Namanameh News Agency: Asghar Mohebbi  born in 1961 in Kermanshah, is an Iranian film and television actor. He started acting in the theater in 1340 at the age of ten and acting in the cinema in 1363 with Doleh To prison, directed by Rahim Rahimipour.

His interest in acting opened his feet to Tehran at that time and he became a member of the theater group (Abruz) and along with a talented actor such as the late Parviz Fanizadeh, he experienced another season of acting. He is then invited to Radio Arg by the late Sadegh Bahrami and gives speeches in several radio shows. He is directing the play “Dog in the Harvest” written by Nusratullah Navidi in April 1351 on the occasion of World Theater Day. After graduating from the Dramatic Arts Training Center, he wrote and directed the plays “Cannibals, Sultan Hussein’s Spirit, Loti and his Antarctica, and the Bankrupts.”

In 1976, he played and directed the play “Pahlavan Akbar Dies” written by Bahram Beizai. After the revolution and on the occasion of the reopening of universities, he went on stage in the play “Abuzar” directed by Hossein Mokhtari in the Rumi Hall of the University of Tehran. He staged the play “The Third Station” in 1983 in the main hall of Shahr Theater as a writer, director and actor. “It’s Midnight – Dr. Schwatzer”, directed by Tajbakhsh Fanaian, is his last play on stage.

Asghar Mohebbi has about sixty Iranian and foreign plays in his acting career.

Establishment of Iran Free Cinema School

Asghar Mohebbi spends his time with the growth and development of the students of the Free Cinema School of Iran in 1998. The Iranian Free Cinema School is gradually developing under his management and responsibility and is currently active with three branches in Tehran. In addition to cooperating with educational centers in several provinces of the country, this film school is also responsible for educating Afghan students living in Iran, and so far a significant number of Afghan students have graduated from the Iranian Film School.

In addition to his responsibilities at the Free Cinema School of Iran, he worked with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for two years for 8 years as the managing director of the Free Cinema Schools Association. Also, in the first national festival of the country’s free cinema schools, they were in charge of the executive management of the festival. Prominent actors such as Tanaz Tabatabai, Hadiseh Tehrani, Fereshteh Hosseini, an actor of Afghan descent, are among his graduates.

Education and employment of blind students

The project of education and employment of the blind with the aim of entrepreneurship in the field of hearing arts for the blind is one of Asghar Mohebbi’s innovations, which after its approval by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in 2002, has been registered in his name in international and international organizations. According to this plan, a significant number of the blind in the country have been trained and graduated in the Iranian Free Cinema School and in radio fields. Artists such as Nusratullah Babaei, Hamid Yasmin, Sadr al-Din Shajreh, Hamid Manouchehri and Mehdi Behnam have collaborated with Asghar Mohebbi in the implementation of the education and employment plan for the blind, which was carried out with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the country’s Radio and Television Organization. Also, many textbooks and educational books were written in Braille after being written by the Free Cinema School of Iran and under the direct supervision of Asghar Mohebbi, and were made available to blind students. The ultimate goal of this project was to establish a special radio network for the blind in the country, which was programmed by trained blind people.

Teaching

Asghar Mohebbi, in addition to his acting, directing and writing activities, has worked as a lecturer in acting and workshop directing for four years with the Islamic Azad University and three years with the University Jihad of the University of Tehran. He also has a significant number of prominent figures in cinema, television and theater in the country today. For three years, he has worked with education as a teacher and theater expert in the practical training of educators. He is also the director in charge of cinema education in the extracurricular activities of Amirkabir University of Technology.
